With our consumption-based pricing you only pay for what you actually use.  The amount you are charged is based on your memory, CPU and disk usage, measured every second of every day. Below is our pricing followed by  cost saving examples (based on US East (Virginia)).

Site uses an average of 1.5GB during peak usage with approximately 500 active users, creating approx. 50 requests/sec with an average payload of 10KB.  Peak usually lasts 4 hours/day, with non-peak average usage of 200MB and 15 requests/sec.

1.5 GB X 3600 seconds/hr X 4 hours X 30 days = 648,000 GB-s

0.2 GB X 3600 seconds/hr X 20 hours X 30 days = 432,000 GB-s

A large WordPress site uses Redis to store its page cache, using approximately 4GB of memory.  The pages are largely static, with approx. 100MB of updates per day.  Peak loads average 8 hours/day and it sees an average of 20 requests/sec with an average payload of 60KB.  Non-peak usage averages 3 requests/sec.  Data Redundancy is used to ensure cache doesn’t have to be rebuilt from scratch in case of failure or application error.

A customer processes a 300-500MB/day set of files against a 30GB dataset.  In SQL Server the process would take 7 hours.  Using Redis + LUA they are able to process the same changes in under 10 minutes.  The dataset is available 24×7 for non-ETL operations.

How does ZippyDB™ consumption-based pricing work?

Your instance CPU, Memory and Disk usage is measured every second.  At the end of the month we sum up your total usage of CPU, Memory, Disk and Bandwidth and bill you for the total usage based on current pricing.

What are the limits for an account or instance?

Default Limits;

Memory: 10GB

Per-Instance Default;

Memory: 5GB

 

Account and Instance limits may be increased through a support request, our current maximum limits are;

Account Max;

Memory: 2TB

Instance Max;

Memory: 480 GB

How do limits work?

When creating an instance you configure the maximum amount of memory the instance can consume.  First the memory is limited by the Per-Instance limit of your account, then it is limited if your account has other instances active.

Example:

You have a standard account and 2 instances, 1 configured for 3GB and the 2nd configured for 4GB

You many add up to 3GB of instances to your account either as a single instance or multiple smaller instances.

The limit allowed in create instance is 5GB

Redis Instance Limit = Min(Account Limit – SUM(Configured instance limits), Instance Limit)
